Not many people blogging, huh?
We had an interesting chat with my fiance in regards to who's writting blogs and who's commenting on them. We came to the conclusion that discussion can happen only if
a) people are really personally attached to the topic discussed, e.g. it might be a WOW topic for them
b) people are really and I mean REALLY bored at work and bloggin is the easy way to kill timem
Otherwise, why would you spend your precious time writting notes that millions will see, but no one will care?
Given that not many people commented on my blog, I must assume that at least you guys are not bored. I will have to copy-paste some of the comments that I got via e-mail:
Anya: "WTF...as you have to be quite insane to spend that much for a sack". How much did you spend on your sunglasses a couplt of years ago?:)
V: Seven hundred bucks! I still don't belive it, but swear it wasn't for a JEAN PAUL GAULTIER WOW brand. It was because I look quite ugly in all other glasses I've tried. That simple...
Pete W : Nice blog .. very rugged!. I do have to say though that you really challanged me by asking me to read it bottom up ... the simplest of things often do challange me :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's clear that the term WOW! brand can be interpreted by many people in many different ways. e.g. WOW! brand can be interpreted as popular brand, expensive brand, recently purchased brand etc... I think the taxi driver at the start of your trip helps us appreciate this most clearly.
I love the art work, you really bring the mentioned brands to life with your selection of pictures and links. I think WOW! brands need to have lasting images, either through use, or through connection. The Harley Tatoo is a great example of this!
Pete, thanks for the comments!
ReplyDeleteI fully agree with you there is no uniform definition of WOW brand. But it seems that even my fellow marketeers struggled to define what does their WOW brand mean to them emotionally. Don't even mention the driver...
Hi V
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on an excellent blog!
It is no surprise to me that the blogs attract so little comments... I have learned it trying to blog on Interact - I think when it is work related we tend to think "oh, I will have a chance to discuss it in person". You would not believe amount of people who talked to me about my posts but never actually posted any comments online :-)
P.S. That Pepsi bottle rocks
